Time Flies

Well. Somehow 13 days have passed between the last time I wrote and now. Oops! It's amazing how time just flies right under our nose! Let's dive right in!

How's the fasting going, you ask? Well, I'm assuming that's what you are wondering. In any case, I'd say fasting is going well in the sense that I find it "easy" to do, although days off of work make it a wee bit harder. And the weekends with the fluctuating dinner times don't help. Monday-Friday is honestly easy as pie. I end my fast anywhere between 7-9 pm, depending on the night and extracurriculars. I work until 3:15 pm, by the time I get home it's 3:30 pm or later. I will end my fast then. During the week I aim for 18 hour fasts, and on the weekend 16 hour fasts.

How's the soda intake? Well, we are 16 days into the new year, and I can count on one hand how many sodas I've had thus far! We've gone out to eat, and I'll have one, but not always. At home, I really try not to have any, or if I were, one or two a week at most. Not perfect, but way better than the three/day I was having. And McDonald's and their $1.00 any size fountain drink! I haven't had any! They probably miss me....

In terms of weight loss, how is that? Well, let's be honest. Nonexistent. I know I know-throw the scale away. I really should. After I smash it into a million itty bitty pieces I just might. I'm not taking photos. No one wants to see that. Not even myself! Clothes still fit the same. I'm drinking water, only clean fasting. I know I need to increase my protein intake and vegetables, and decrease processed foods and carbs. Rome wasn't built in a day, so I suppose I should "trust the process." In the meantime, I will try not to derail myself and keep plugging along. At least for making some healthier choices...

Yesterday Tony says to me, "Let's go for a walk." Ummm...have you looked at the thermometer? Have you walked out the front door? It's cold! I mean, not bitterly, but cold enough! However, I knew it was good to get moving, so begrudgingly I went. I'd say we walked maybe two miles? I shocked myself when we came home and I realized I actually did enjoy it. Frozen chin and all....And this afternoon, we did it again! Dare I say we make this a habit? Guess we will see how tired I am after hanging out with 14 four year olds...

In other news of making life improvements... I finished my first book of the year! A miracle if I do say so. The title was Signal Fires by Dani Shapiro. It was one of those books where you reach a certain point in it, that you just don't want to put it down. I honestly tried to read a little bit each night, and was moderately successful. Now, what to read next...

Also, I started organizing all my school paraphernalia. It's..A LOT. I have a thing for clear bins and label makers. HA! I'm not the least bit organized, but it makes me look like I am! I'm trying to be better. Little steps. Now, if I can only manage to keep the kitchen clean for longer than 10 minutes, all would be right in the world!

On that note...I'd like to close my eating window, and I need to figure out where dinner is....
